Blog Post #2

This week, we listened to professor lecture about finding different kinds of data in the WCA archive and what each point of data means. We talked about how data is found and what the date is for, the number of the entry and the purpose and the writer is. We also talked about starting our first project of entering in a scrapbook into the archive. We also watched a video about how to enter an item into the west chester data base. I entered a helmet into the database after watching parts of the video which showed me how to enter it in. It was very informative and helped me learn how to put all of the data into the database, including sources, dates, the subject, description and relation. I can assume this is going to be similar to how the next project will go that we are going to talk more about hopefully next week. This week was a little bit more clearer as for what this class is and I am starting to understand what digital humanities is. I will probably have more questions as the class goes on but I am a little curious as to what we will do throughout the class.
